Summary

  • Basic Description
    • 1)Ability to perform manual lymph drainage and multilayered bandaging for patients suffering from lymphedema, venous edema and lipidema. 2)Ability to evaluate, stage, measure lymphedema and assess superficial wounds associated with these diseases. 3)Ability to differentiate chronic venous insufficiency, and post phlebotic syndrome from lymphedema and lipidema. 4)Understanding of compression device and use. 5)Have an in-depth knowledge of pathophysiology of those diseases to educate clients.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Experience and Skills
    (Education, Experience and Skills required to fully perform the requirements of the position)
    • Degree / Education
      • Bachelor Degree - PHYS THERP
      • AND
      • Certificate - PHYS THERP
    • Level of Experience
      • 2 Years - At least 2 years treating lymphedema patients of which 50% of practice is related diagnosis which includes 6 months treating/managing wound care
    • Lic./Cert./Reg.
      • All licensure must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
      • Basic Life Support - Must be certified within 30 days of hire.
    • Typing/Word Processing skills required for this position
