Summary

  • Basic Description
    • Provide instruction based on Anesthesia School curriculum. Contribute to departmental professionalism. Foster an environment for student growth and development toward terminal objectives. Responsible for assisting the Program Director with strategic planning, developing, organizing, implementing, supervising, and evaluating the didactic and clinical component for nurse anesthesia education. The Associate Program Director serves as a designee for the Program Director and assumes the Program Director's position in his or her absence.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Experience and Skills
    (Education, Experience and Skills required to fully perform the requirements of the position)
    • Degree / Education
      • Graduate of a COA accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
      • AND
      • Doctorate Degree in Nursing or Nurse Anesthesia
    • Level of Experience
      • 5 years CRNA experience in various capacities demonstrating progressively increased clinical and academic expertise.
    • Lic./Cert./Reg.
      • All licensure must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
      • Registered Nurse (RN)
      • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
      • Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN)
      • Basic Life Support - Must be certified within 30 days of hire.
      • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Must be certified within 1 year of hire.
      • Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Must be certified within 1 year of hire.
      • Meet the CAMC and COA requirements for Clinical Competency
      • Meet the requirements for Doctoral Faculty Status at Marshall University
    • Typing/Word Processing skills required for this position
    • Computer Skills required for this position
