Summary

  • Basic Description
    • Accountable for the performance of required building and maintenance trades at the journeyman level to ensure safe and efficient operation of the Medical Center's facilities. Creates positive relationships, situations, and an atmosphere that promotes effective, efficient, economic, and high quality outcomes.

    • Degree / Education
      • High School Diploma/GED
    • Level of Experience
      • 4-6 years maintenance/construction experience based on the need of the department
    • Lic./Cert./Reg.
      • Journeyman's plumbing license must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
      • Driver's License
    • Typing/Word Processing skills required for this position
    • Computer Skills required for this position

    • Plumbing experience 
      • Read, interpret and apply information contained in service manuals and National and State Plumbing Code.   Demonstrates the ability to read and understand Mechanical/Plumbing drawings. Understands the layout and  design of Mechanical/Plumbing requirement for scope of work per National/State Mechanical/Plumbing Codes, etc. Demonstrates the ability to follow the scope of work in installing and troubleshooting Mechanical/Plumbing components.

      • Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.
    • Minimum Requirement Comments
      • Based on the needs of the department at the time of the posting, the incumbent must have certification or license or be pursuing such. Must work across craft lines and perform preventive maintenance.
