Summary

  • Basic Description
    • Responsible for the coordination and management of department staff, office procedures, including registration and screening of patients, maintenance of patient and computer files, etc. Department size of 3 or more physicians on duty at any one time/staff sizes of 10 or more persons.

      • May substitute 10+ years of physician office experience for Bachelor Degree.

    • Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)
      • The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

    • Minimum Requirement Comments
      • The department has 3 or more providers or more than one location.  The department also must have more than 10 employees.  Must possess the ability to deal with conflicts and resolve them as amicably as possible. Must possess a strong commitment to customer service (viewing both the physicians and the patients as customers). Must pay close attention to detail and possess the ability to manage multiple requests as well as competing demands on time. Must have strong interpersonal skills and a strong sense of accountability.
