Summary

  • Basic Description
    • The manager of Facilities Maintenance will plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily operations to provide a functional and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Women and Children's and Teays Valley Hospital and all associated off-site medical office buildings under their area of responsibility. Functional areas include any of the following: Central Plant Operations, Maintenance and Repair, Building Management Systems, Energy Utilization and Conservation, Project Development and Support, and Fire/Safety Systems.
  • Specialized Knowledge, Experience and Skills
    (Education, Experience and Skills required to fully perform the requirements of the position)
    • Degree / Education
      • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
    • Level of Experience
      • 5 to 7 years of health care facilities management experience, of which at least 3 years are at a supervisory/manager level.
    • Lic./Cert./Reg.
      • All licensure must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
      • Must be able to obtain CHFM- Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager certification within 2 years of employment
      • CHFM, CHSP, CHC certifications highly desired
    • Typing/Word Processing skills required for this position

      • 9-11 years of facilities management experience, of which at least 5 years are at a supervisory/manager level
    • Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact)
      • The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

      • Knowledge of regulatory compliance for TJC, DNV, OSHA, NFPA, local, state & federal policies, codes, and regulations required. Working knowledge of computerized maintenance and management systems.
