Summary

  • Basic Description
    • The Quality Control/Indexing (QCI) Technician is responsible for assuring that all patient records & loose documents are prepped, scanned, and indexed into the Elecenteronic Medical Record (EMR) with the highest level of quality possible while ensuring each document is assigned the appropriate document name for filing in EMR.

    • Degree / Education
      • High School Diploma/GED
    • Level of Experience
      • 1 Year - hospital or office experience**see keystroke test in comment section
    • Lic./Cert./Reg.
      • All licensure must be current/valid and from the state of West Virginia.
    • Typing/Word Processing skills required for this position
      • 5,000 keystrokes with 10 or less errors
    • Computer Skills required for this position
      • Type Of Software - scanning, EMR, Microsoft Excel; see keystroke requirement in comment section

Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

      • Employee must have critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, detail oriented, punctual, & good organizational skills. This is a position which requires a great deal of attention to detail. The employees are creating/filing the legal health record of patients. Stress is also heightened by the fact all this must be done under a short timeframe from the discharge date to enable coding/billing to take place as well as making the chart available to all other clinicians needing it post discharge in EMR
